Introduction - From Vespers - From Matins - From the Divine Liturgy - From Great Lent - Links

Poite Tsarevi Nashemu / Sing to Our King is a collection of Eastern Orthodox liturgical compositions and arrangements for mixed voices (SATB). Most chants are in Church Slavonic, while some are available in English (standard OCA translation; marked in blue). Wherever a chant is listed as ‘Original composition’, this description refers to the music only, since the words are canonical and may therefore not be changed. The spelling of the Slavonic words is that of pre-revolution Russia. The ‘hard signs’ (tvyordyie znaki) at the end of words were omitted to save space in the scores. Brief comments throughout the Slavonic scores are in modern Russian.
